Carolina Otero is appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and member of the Management Committee of Allianz Spain as per 1 April 2025. As a result, Carolina stepped down from her role as Chair and member of the CRO Forum.
Members re-elected Carlo Ferraresi as Chair of the CRO Forum, a role which he previously held in 2024.
On his re-election, Carlo commented: “It is a great honour to serve again as a chairman to support the CRO Forum in this transition. Congratulation to Carolina for her new role and thanks for her guidance. I am also grateful to the CRO Forum members for their trust.“
Carlo Ferraresi has been Group Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Group Management Committee of Assicurazioni Generali since 2022. He began his career at Generali between 1990 and 1995, working as an underwriter in the UK branch and later in the CEO’s office, coordinating Administration and Finance. He then held senior roles in risk and financial advisory at Marsh, Arthur Andersen, and Deloitte, followed by investment banking positions at ABN Amro and Crédit Agricole CIB.
In 2012, he joined Cattolica Assicurazioni as Chief Financial Officer. He was later appointed Deputy General Manager with responsibility for Investments, M&A, and Investor Relations, and from 2019 served as CEO and General Manager.
Carlo returned to Generali as Group Chief Risk Officer in 2022. He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Padua and an MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is currently a member of the Italian Corporate Governance Committee and serves on several academic and research advisory boards.
Patrick Raaflaub, CRO Swiss Re and Françoise Gilles, CRO AXA will continue in their roles as vice-chairs of the CRO Forum.
